1) What is Cornerstone Care Society?
Cornerstone Care Society is a B.C. based non-profit society and registered charity serving the home care needs of the residents of Delta, Surrey, White Rock, Langley and Aldergrove. The Society is governed by a board of directors that are all volunteers and have a history of community service. (see "Board of Directors" by linking to "About Us) page
2) How much do the services provided by Cornerstone Care cost?
The costs for service vary depending onthe nature of the service you require. Prices range from as low as $18 per hour for house cleaning service to $27 per hour for some in-home care personal services. Please call Heather at 604-575-9080 for more details.
3) What services does Cornerstone provide?
Cornerstone provides a wide range of services: house cleaning, meal preparaton, bath assist, personla hygeine, medication assist and reminders, eye and ear drops, shopping service, respite care, social outings, and even dog walking. We can also provide the services of Registered Nurses and LPN's.
4) Does Cornerstone provide 24 hour care?
Yes. Cornerstone can provide 24/7 care in your own home, in an assisted living residence and even in the hospital
5) How do I arrange for service?
It's easy, just call 604-575-9080 and ask for Heather. She is there to help!
6) How soon can I start service?
Service can begin as soon as a Client Care Coordinator can make arrangements to meet with you to determine your needs. Most often service can start in just a few days.
7) Will someone visit me to assess my needs?
Yes, one of our Client Care Coordinators will visit you in your home to assess your needs. A Care Plan will be developed that is designed to met your specific needs and budget.
8) What are the qualifications of our Personal Care Attendants?
All of our Personal Care Attendants are certified Registered Care Aides from recognized colleges and are bondable. Our Housekeeping Workers all have in-service training and are bondable.
9) What is the shortest length of time the Attendant can stay?
The minimum length of a visit is 15 minutes if you are in a group facility or 1 hour if you live in your own home.
10) Can I have the same person all the time?
Continuity of care from the Personal Care Attendant you are most comfortable with is one of our main goals.
11) Can the Personal Care Attendants take me to appointments?
Yes, they can.
12) Can the Personal Care Attendants do grocery shopping for me?
They can go grocery shopping for you or they can take you with them.
13) How often am I billed?
Once a month you will be sent a statement summarizing the services you have received.
14) How can I pay the bill?
You have the choice of mailing us a cheque or charging it to your credit card. The easiest way to pay your bill is to sign up for our monthly credit card payment plan. Ask your Client Care Coordinator for details on how to sign up.
15) I have services through the DVA, can Cornerstone help with these?
Yes, Cornerstone Care can provide many of the services funded by the DVA. These include house cleaning, home support services and even yard work.
16) Can I call only when I feel I need some extra help, i.e. sometimes I won't need weekly help, but I may need help only every other week for a short time or, can I just call in whenever I feel I need some extra help?
Some clients need to have a daily or weekly schedule but other clients may only need cleaning once a month or a ride to an appointment and will call when needed. |
